“Dalpaengi Terrace” comes from the Korean word for “snail,” which I feel perfectly expresses the slow-life philosophy I pursue.
The name was inspired by a snail I happened to encounter in my home, and it reflects a small part of my calm, deliberate Korean-style slow living that I hope to share with you.
Sparkling Bathroom Without Harsh Chemicals
Cleaning in my home isn’t just chores—it’s a mindful ritual. Bathrooms in Korea are often humid, which can make them prone to bacteria. I do light daily upkeep and a more thorough cleaning once a week.
Instead of harsh chemical detergents, I use everyday ingredients like shampoo, dish soap, and baking soda. This keeps both the environment and my family’s health in mind. My favorite trick? A natural glass cleaner made only with water and vinegar—simple, effective, and safe.
Keeping belongings minimal also makes cleaning much easier. Less clutter means a calmer mind and a more peaceful home environment.

Korean-Style Half-Bath for Dogs: Wellness Time with Ben
Ben, my beloved dog, loves water. After our walks, I help him enjoy a relaxing half-bath, a Korean routine called '하반신욕', which focuses on gently immersing the lower body.
Ben's tail never stops wagging on walks! See his pure happiness in the full video below.
This bath supports circulation, helps flush out toxins, and keeps his skin healthy. Ben needs guidance and care during the bath—I don’t just put him in the water and walk away.
After Ben’s bath, his natural doggy scent tends to linger in the bathroom. To keep the space fresh and maintain our calm environment, I follow up with a quick bathroom clean.
Post-walk spa time for Ben 🐾: a gentle half-bath that keeps him happy,
healthy, and smelling fresh!
'Customer, is it refreshing?'
Over time, this sequence—walk, half-bath, bathroom reset—has become a comforting post-walk ritual. It quietly adds rhythm and care to our daily life.

Terrace Gardening & a 15-Minute Healthy Meal
Even a small terrace can bring joy. I recently added a ‘Silverleaf Beech’ tree, which offers seasonal colors and a sense of calm. Repotting and tending the plant carefully has become a meditative process for me, allowing the space to feel alive and intentional.
Curious about how the terrace changed? Check out the full garden makeover video at the bottom of this post.
After completing daily routines and enjoying small moments of calm, I like to prepare a Korean-style stir-fry using beef sirloin and fresh bean sprouts. In just 15 minutes, I can make a quick yet nutritious dish that has become a personal favorite, marking a satisfying end to a well-spent day.
Craving this dish? I’ve shared the step-by-step recipe video at the bottom of this post.
